Welcome to the new and improved Kobo Reddit Rules I still prefer the bigger size (insert yet another dirty joke :P) but decided I'd go for the almost flawless Libra 2 for now and consider an 8 inch device next time Kobo upgrade the Sage or Forma and hope they've fixed the few issues the Sage has.Anything and everything about the Kobo eReader. With both devices I bought working fine I found it really hard to decide - the Libra was slightly better (for me) in many ways but I just couldn't get past the bigger size of the Sage for ages. The battery was very similar on the one I had though, I think I worked out I'd get maybe 15 hours use per charge cycle. Compared to the Sage, I found I had to press the Libra 2 buttons much harder (not ridiculously so but when I moved from one to the other the pressure difference was noticeable), sounds like you received a faulty one. I kept the Libra 2 but I actually found the buttons on the Sage much more responsive to even the lightest touch and the page turns were instantaneous (am also a fairly fast reader so I wasn't waiting minutes between each page turn!). I also bought both as I really couldn't decide. They are so sensitive that my dog nose booped the buttons yesterday and it turned the pages. They are responsive each time I click and the screen has not frozen at all yet. It's not the ereaders fault that I was soiled by 8 inches instead of 7 for a while (insert dirty joke here about size not being everything). The screen being 7 inch instead of 8 inches does make a big difference but I will get used to it in time. I like how light it is after the Sage+Power Cover combo. So far the battery is draining at around 2% per hour of reading. I don't know if I just had a defective product or what? What do you guys think? After 4 times in 1 week of this, I gave up on this ereader completely and returned it. I could screen tap for the life of me and no response at all. Only the SCREEN STOPPED RESPONDING AS WELL! Good lord, does this device not have a faster processer? What is the point if I had to restart the device to get it to work? I couldn't flip the pages, couldn't get a menu to pop up to be able to pop out of the book and back in. I could have screen tapped for the rest of my life and not cared. Once again, I could have dealt with this. At other times, to turn the pages I had to push the button 2 or 3 times - sometimes up to 5 times- to get it to flip. You have asked too much of me" I had to use the screen tap to flip the pages instead. "No way in heck will I do this for you, OP. This means I need to flip the page about a minute after the last flip. In the book I'm currently reading, the customization of the ereader text means that there are times when I have a page with one or two sentences on it. That means there are a LOT of page flips while I'm reading. I deep cycled the battery (without the power cover) 5 times, did a few factory resets, all the updates etc etc and the battery life evened out at 10% loss per hour from 20% when I first got it. I don't travel often and it's no big deal to plus the thing into the wall once in a while to charge. I could have dealt with this, I really could. With the power cover, I got approximately 26 hours of reading time in one charge. The battery died at about 10% per hour at 5% brightness. Reading customization is MUCH better than other brand ereaderīuttons were NOT responsive (more on this below)Įreader itself unresponsive (this was the breaking point) Here are my thoughts on the devices (so far) I have bought the Kobo Libra 2 and been using it for a week. I returned it after trying it out for 3 weeks.
